Night is my favorite time around the clock. I can leave my studio free of all those professional commitments to focus my mind on my art works, on my photos & photography, the Photography which I have formed in to an extreme self expression.
I consider my photography as a long term projects all to express my feelings and concerns. I try to perform that kind of art which has been established on criticizing the current Iranian society (the society I’m living in). I want it to be Just like telling a story trough my photos. Every single photo will be a peace of my story, and when all the peaces come together the story will be complete.
One of the biggest self expressions in the following collections is my body and the fact that I very much liked to walk with my audience all the way trough the story. Be with him with no mask with no veil. To be honest I would have strip to my bare body if I could.
In the following photos, you will see that I have chosen panoramic frames to point out the infinity of this metropolitan (Tehran) and I also used the street lights as my stage lighting. You may notice, in all those frames I tried to form every thing as a theater stage, directing it and then pressing the shutter.
Tehran; Midnight
Vol. 1
Be among your townsmen and yet be an outsider!
Be a townsman of exhausted & agitated people. Exhausted of living a futile life and agitated of political and social pressures. Like no townsman but like wander ghosts, uninterested to my present, to my barracks.
Vol. 2
Tehran; Midnight, beyond the life of the city.
This time, they are very much interested. More like a spy. They stalk me and you, stalkers who aimed for the freedom. I guess neither of us ever tasted the pleasant flavor of the freedom.
Vol. 3
Bare feet & no shirt.
I’m trying to narrate that part of the story, which my kind of people has with the their nostalgic present and yet being strange in their hometown, the part with odd people and full of paradox.
These photos tell the story of the loneliness of me and my city, a city full of filth, a city full of my memories, memories of different times, different places, and a city that I love.
